Eating Healthy When You Don't Have a Kitchen

Helpful Hints When You Have to Eat "Take Out" or "Eat Out"

Have you ever found yourself without access to a kitchen?
Due to a recent slab leak in our home, quite a common occurrence here in SoCal, I found myself minus a kitchen.
So how do you maintain a healthy lifestyle without the ability to cook?

Thankfully, living in Southern California we can use the BBQ year round.  So that's always an option. You can barbecue your protein, your veggies, even your starches...baked or roasted sweet potatoes... yummolicious!  It also makes clean up a breeze!  Especially useful when you have to wash your dishes in the powder room!

Unfortunately, with busy schedules eating out or bringing food in may be your only option.  This may sound fun at first, but after a while, you get over it...trust me!

So how do you eat without relying on burgers and fries and pizza?  There are several other options. Every grocery store has a deli, it's quite easy to buy a pre-roasted chicken and steam some veggies in the microwave......just remember to remove the skin from the chicken...and thank goodness for salad bars.  Tons of veggies and proteins to chose from.  Always a nice option for an easy and healthy lunch.

Eating at a restaurant doesn't have to find you indulging every time either...pick a grilled or roasted protein and ask for double veggies instead of the usual side of potatoes, and skip dessert....unless it's a cheat day of course!

Things are pretty messy around here, but everything has been fixed and is starting to come together.  I can't wait to get my kitchen back and start cooking and prepping our food again!

So you think you can be a Personal Trainer?

My First EVER Blog

Never mind thinking I can be a Personal Trainer...what makes me think I can even be a blogger and that anyone would be interested in what I have to say?

I'm Stacey.  I was once an overweight, stay-at-home mom to two beautiful girls and wife to an amazing man.  At my heaviest I was an unhealthy and inactive size 22...I'm now a very healthy and very active size 6!

It's been quite a journey to get where I am today, but it's all been worth it.  It wasn't a quick fix either. It's been a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment to a healthier lifestyle.

It takes time, trust me!  But you'll get there if you stick to it!  Think of it this way, it took several years to get to that point in my life, so it isn't going to take 3 weeks or 3 months to get the results you want.  As I continue on my journey I want to give back and help others who are in the same place in their life.  Hence the idea to become a certified personal trainer.

I hope you'll join me as I continue my journey, both personal and professional.  Along the way I hope to share some health and lifestyle tips that may help you as you begin or continue your journey to healthier way of living!
